Central Plains Area Agency on Aging
You may be at risk for type 2 diabetes, but there is something you can do about it.
Central Plains Area Agency on Aging (CPAAA) offers a Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) called Prevent T2, which assists individuals who are overweight or in the pre-diabetic range to reduce their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. With a focus on training adults 55 and older, CPAAA guides participants in the program to help them learn about healthy eating and increasing their physical activity. This program will encourage participants to learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle that may prevent the onset of Type 2 Diabetes. The class is offered in a group setting that allows participants to support and learn from each other. Eligibility for the program consists of a lab reading in the pre-diabetic range or by having a BMI of 25 or greater, in adults 18 years or older.
