You may be at risk for type 2 diabetes, but there is something you can do about it.
The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) assists individuals who are overweight or in the pre-diabetic range to reduce their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. The DPP teaches participants how to maintain a healthy lifestyle that may prevent the onset of Type 2 Diabetes through physical activity and healthy eating. The class is offered in a group setting that allows participants to support and learn from each other. Eligibility for the program is adults 18 years or older and consists of a lab reading in the pre-diabetic range, by having a BMI of 25 or greater, or being deemed eligible by the online risk screener.
